Cultured and centrifuged mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to prepare samples which were then implanted onto 3D printed neural and osteochondral scaffolds.

Observed proliferation, adhesion and viability of MSCs for scaffolds over a two month period.

Designed and constructed new printing tray to significantly improve quality of printed scaffolds and consistency of samples.

Assessed previous prototypes and re-designed parts for a spinal implant gun using SolidWorks; this device was used to measure the force required to insert a vertebral implant.

Used a Wheatstone bridge configuration and potentiometer to track trigger strain and movement.

Assisted R & D staff with cataloging SpineWave’s inventory using its database of product images.

Designed a biometric shirt incorporating a fabric stretch sensor, accelerometer and 3 lead ECG to measure heart rate, breathing rate, steps taken, distance traveled and energy expended. Programs used: Eagle PCB Design, AutoCAD, Arduino IDE.

Developed a mobile app to wirelessly receive and display biometric data.

Second place in Pelton Senior Design Competition.
